If you have problems connecting to a host, you should check that the host
name or IP address is correct, and also verify your account details. If
you want to connect using a host name rather than an IP address, your local
host table must include the host name definition.
If these details are correct, but you still cannot connect, check that
the gateways for your system are correctly defined in your TCP/IP configuration
and try to Ping the remote system to see if it is reachable.
If you need to analyse what is happening more closely, you can capture
the control port traffic in a file or as a network trace, please refer
to the section “”.
If you cannot view a file using the View option on the File menu, it may
be because the file type is unsupported, or because the mode (ASCII/Binary)
is not set correctly.
